NAIROBI, Kenya – The Wiper Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) on Wednesday voted to expel Dadaab Member of Parliament Farah Maalim following his alleged inflammatory comments on anti-government protests.
During a press conference, Wiper Party leaders announced their decision to strip Maalim of all parliamentary leadership roles and from the National Assembly speaker’s panel.
The party stated that Maalim’s remarks contradicted the core values and guiding principles of the Wiper Democratic Movement.
“Let it be known clearly that the Wiper Democratic Movement party distances and disassociates itself from these remarks,” declared a party spokesperson.
The NEC’s action is part of a broader disciplinary crackdown. The party revealed that it has initiated proceedings against members who supported the controversial Finance Bill, 2024.
Despite being summoned to a disciplinary meeting, Maalim and three other legislators sent apologies instead of attending, further straining their relationship with the party leadership.
