Global tea café brand Chaii Republic has expanded its footprint in Kenya with the unveiling of Café NBO, a vibrant cultural tea hub at Chaka Place, Kilimani.
The outlet becomes the company’s second flagship store after the success of its Westlands branch, cementing Nairobi as a key base in its East African growth strategy.
Speaking at the launch on Friday evening, Café NBO co-founder Sara described the space as more than a tea shop.
“Tea is more than just a drink – it’s a story, a culture, and a shared moment. With Café NBO, we want to create a space where Nairobians can connect, linger, and celebrate life,” she said.

Guests at the launch sampled Chaii Republic’s signature blends, among them Kulhad Chai served in traditional clay cups, Kashmiri Noon Chai, Moroccan Mint, Earl Grey, and a refreshing Hibiscus & Mango infusion.
The event also featured henna artistry, a live DJ, and a surprise musical performance, reflecting the café’s emphasis on culture and creativity.
Thrive Hospitality CEO Ashish, whose group owns Chaii Republic, said the café is designed as a community hub for conversation and cultural exchange, blending authentic tea traditions with Nairobi’s urban lifestyle.
“We are proud to open our second flagship outlet here in Nairobi. This is just the beginning of our journey in East Africa – we believe Café NBO will become a home for conversations, creativity, and community,” he noted.

Beyond specialty teas, the café will serve modern bistro-style meals, including live-station pizzas, freshly baked rolls, and gelato, as part of efforts to attract both food and lifestyle enthusiasts.
Chaii Republic says Café NBO reflects its ambition to position tea at the heart of Nairobi’s café culture, offering an immersive experience where tradition meets modern dining.
