Jubilee Insurance Gears Up for Third Edition of the Jubilee Live Free Race

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya- Jubilee Insurance has officially launched the third edition of its highly anticipated Jubilee Live Free Race, set to take place on September 29th in Nairobi.

In collaboration with the Grand Nairobi Bike Race (GNBR), this year’s event promises to be bigger and better, attracting elite cyclists from around the globe while also sparking important conversations about health, sustainability, and financial wellness.

Building on the success of last year’s event, the 2024 Jubilee Live Free Race will feature six distinct race categories designed to cater to cyclists of all ages and skill levels.

Participants can choose from the 60 km main race, a 12 km family fun ride, the crowd-favorite 48 km black mamba ride, a 2 km kiddies’ race, a 48 km para-cycling race, and a 60 km team race for groups of six riders.

The race will commence at Nyayo Stadium, with cyclists navigating through key Nairobi routes, including Uhuru Highway.

The event is expected to draw up to 2,500 elite cyclists from 21 countries, including Ethiopia, Eritrea, the USA, France, and members of the East African Community.

This diverse participation highlights the growing appeal of the race and its potential to become a flagship event on the global cycling calendar.

While the Jubilee Live Free Race is undoubtedly a celebration of cycling, it also serves as a platform to raise awareness about the importance of a well-rounded life.

The event will promote conversations on prioritizing health, understanding financial planning, and demystifying insurance as a tool for safeguarding wellness, managing risk, and growing wealth.

Moreover, the race will underscore the need for sustainable practices, especially in the face of climate change, pollution, and health challenges.

Jubilee Insurance’s thematic campaign, “There’s Living and There’s Living Free,” launched earlier this year, perfectly aligns with the race’s objectives.

The campaign is designed to meet individuals at their point of need, enhancing their understanding of investment and insurance solutions that enable them to live freely and securely.

For the third consecutive year, Jubilee Insurance is the title sponsor of the event, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to the race’s growth and impact.

The company has invested a total of Ksh. 20 million into the 2024 edition—Ksh. 10 million in cash and an additional Ksh. 10 million in advertising and promotion.

Since the partnership’s inception in 2022, Jubilee Insurance has contributed Ksh. 60 million to this event, underscoring its dedication to fostering meaningful societal change.

Caroline Ndungu, Group Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Jubilee Insurance, highlighted the company’s vision during the launch: “Our brand promise is centered on enabling people to live free, and this event naturally ties in with that vision.”

“We are excited about the third edition, not only for the platform it provides for competition and fun but also for its role in fostering conversations that inspire behavioral change and drive meaningful societal impact.” Caroline concluded.

The third edition of the Jubilee Live Free Race is set to be a landmark event, blending the thrill of competition with the power of meaningful conversation.
