Toyota’s Sh33 Million Investment Powers 2025 WRC Safari Rally

NAIROBI, Kenya- Toyota, through CFAO Mobility Kenya, has doubled down on its long-standing support for Kenyan motorsport, investing Sh33 million in the upcoming 2025 WRC Safari Rally, set to take place in Naivasha next month. 

This marks the fifth consecutive year that Toyota has partnered with the rally, further cementing its role as a driving force in one of the world’s most challenging motorsport events.

For the fifth year in a row, Toyota will serve as the official transport partner of the WRC Safari Rally, a testament to the company’s deep-rooted commitment to the Kenyan rally scene. 

The sponsorship includes the provision of two Toyota Hilux Pick-ups: one as a double zero “00” route opener, and another as a zero “0” car for selected stages, aligning with Toyota’s carbon neutrality agenda through the inclusion of a Hilux Mild Hybrid.

Toyota’s partnership goes beyond just vehicles. The company has pledged to enhance road safety and driving skills by supporting professional driver training for 10 of the Safari Rally’s safety caravan drivers. 

This advanced driver training program highlights Toyota’s focus on improving road safety both during the rally and in the wider Kenyan community.

Celebrating a Milestone: Toyota Gazoo Racing’s 100 Years in Rallying

This year’s Safari Rally is even more significant as it coincides with the 100th anniversary of Toyota Gazoo Racing’s participation in rallying. 

Over the past century, Toyota has established itself as a powerhouse in motorsport, securing multiple world championships and achieving consistent success in some of the world’s toughest terrains, including those found in Kenya.

Speaking at the cheque handover ceremony, CFAO Mobility Kenya’s Managing Director, Arvinder Reel, expressed his pride in Toyota’s continued involvement in the rally. 

“As we celebrate 100 years of Toyota Gazoo Racing in rallying, our investment reflects Toyota’s unwavering commitment to pushing the limits for better, delivering high-performance vehicles, and supporting the growth of rallying in Kenya,” he said.

The company is also focusing on the younger generation through an innovative mural competition aimed at instilling good road safety habits among schoolchildren. 

The competition encourages students to creatively express essential road safety themes, including pedestrian safety, respect for traffic rules, and responsible driving.

“At CFAO Mobility Kenya, we believe that road safety starts with education,” said Reel.
