Kenya and Italy Strengthen Ties in Criminal Justice Sector

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya — The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Renson Ingonga, CBS, OGW, held a consultative meeting with the Italian Ambassador to Kenya, Vincenzo Del Monaco, aimed at enhancing cooperation in the criminal justice sector.

The discussions focused on reinforcing interagency and bilateral collaboration between Kenya and Italy, including the exchange of perspectives on prosecutorial mandates and exploring practical avenues to address emerging and transnational crimes.

A key point of the engagement was Mutual Legal Assistance (MLA) in criminal matters, with both sides identifying opportunities to strengthen mechanisms that facilitate cross-border investigations and prosecutions.
