MURANG’A, Kenya — Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has met principals of all-day secondary schools in the constituency to plan for the upcoming academic year.
The meeting focused on coordination, preparedness, and continued improvement of learning conditions across public schools.
Nyoro said school heads have worked closely with local leadership to strengthen education standards in Kiharu. He praised the role of principals in maintaining unity and coherence in school management.
“We have always worked together,” Nyoro said. “This teamwork has helped us improve infrastructure and learning outcomes.”
He noted that several schools have upgraded their facilities in recent years. Projects include the construction of science laboratories and other essential amenities.
The MP said the developments were achieved through collaboration between school administrations and the Kiharu NG-CDF committee.
Nyoro also announced that two new secondary schools, built from scratch and fully funded by the Kiharu National Government Constituencies Development Fund, will admit students for the first time this year.
He said the new schools will expand access to secondary education and reduce pressure on existing institutions.
Education officials welcomed the developments, saying improved infrastructure plays a key role in student performance and safety.
Nyoro reiterated his commitment to education as a driver of development. He said investing in schools prepares young people to compete locally and globally.

“We are African, and Africa is our business,” he said.
The MP said his office will continue working with school leaders to address emerging needs and ensure a smooth academic year.
The meeting comes as schools across the country prepare to reopen amid renewed focus on quality, equity, and access to education.
