Kenyan music legend Nameless has announced the cancellation of the Sunday, August 16, 2026 edition of his highly anticipated Nameless@25 anniversary concert, citing unexpected logistical challenges and unforeseen circumstances.
The announcement comes just weeks before the milestone celebration, which marks 25 years since the award-winning singer burst onto the Kenyan music scene.
While the second show has been called off, fans can still look forward to the flagship Saturday, August 15, 2026 concert at Nairobi’s Carnivore Grounds, which remains sold out and will proceed as planned.
The Sunday performance had been introduced after overwhelming demand saw tickets for the original Saturday event sell out, giving more fans an opportunity to celebrate the milestone with one of Kenya’s most influential musicians.
However, Nameless and his management have now opted to focus all their efforts on delivering a world-class experience for the main event.
In a statement shared across his official social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram, the celebrated musician explained that the decision was not made lightly.
“We realize the importance to also focus on the one 15 Aug Sato show to give our best and maybe later organize another show after we regroup!”
Nameless acknowledged that the cancellation would disappoint fans who had already secured tickets for the Sunday performance but emphasized that ensuring the highest production quality for the main concert was the priority.
According to the singer, staging two consecutive large-scale productions under the prevailing logistical circumstances would have stretched resources and potentially affected the overall quality of the performances.
Rather than compromise the experience, his team decided to channel all production efforts into making the Saturday show a memorable celebration of his 25-year music journey.
The artist also thanked fans for their unwavering support, noting that the overwhelming response to the anniversary concert had exceeded expectations.
The sold-out Saturday event is expected to celebrate Nameless’ remarkable career, featuring performances of his biggest hits spanning more than two decades.
Widely regarded as one of the pioneers of Kenya’s modern pop music scene, Nameless has built a legacy through timeless songs, electrifying stage performances, and a career that has inspired generations of musicians.
His influence extends beyond music, having helped shape the country’s entertainment industry while remaining one of the few artists to sustain relevance across multiple generations.
For fans who purchased tickets for the now-cancelled Sunday show, the management team has assured them that they will not be left stranded.
In its announcement, the organizers confirmed that all affected ticket holders are being contacted directly via email to facilitate full refunds and provide guidance on the next steps.
“We realize the importance to also focus on the one 15 Aug Sato show to give our best and maybe later organize another show after we regroup!”
The upcoming Nameless@25 concert remains one of the biggest events on Kenya’s entertainment calendar this year.
The milestone marks a quarter-century of a career that has produced chart-topping hits, earned numerous accolades, and cemented Nameless’ status as one of the country’s most celebrated musicians.
