NAIROBI, Kenya- A 37-year-old dual citizen of Somalia and Australia has been arrested at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in connection with a fraud case.
The suspect, Ige Nasa, was intercepted at Terminal 1A upon arrival from Australia via Johannesburg aboard a Kenya Airways flight.
Authorities acted on an active immigration control alert issued on January 30, 2026, linked to a case of Obtaining Money by False Pretenses.
Following his arrest, Nasa was processed at JKIA Police Station before being handed over to Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers for further investigations. Detectives confirmed that the probe into his alleged activities is ongoing.
“The long arm of the law has no borders,” a police spokesperson said, reaffirming Kenya’s commitment to tracking and apprehending fugitives with international ties.
This arrest highlights the increasing cooperation between immigration authorities and law enforcement agencies in Kenya to intercept individuals wanted for financial crimes, particularly those attempting to enter the country via major air routes.
Kenya Airways passengers traveling from regions flagged by immigration alerts may be subjected to heightened screening as part of ongoing efforts to combat cross-border fraud.
The DCI has urged members of the public to provide information on suspected financial crimes, particularly those involving individuals with dual citizenship, to aid in investigations.
Investigations into Ige Nasa’s alleged fraudulent activities are ongoing, with authorities expected to release further details as the case progresses.
