HOMA BAY, Kenya — Police in Rachuonyo, Homa Bay County, have arrested one suspect and seized a significant quantity of cannabis during an intelligence-led operation along the Kendu Bay–Homa Bay road.
According to the National Police Service, officers from Kendu Bay Police Station intercepted a white Toyota Corolla, registration number KAM 168U, on Wednesday, November 19, in the Kanyadhiang area of North Karachuonyo.
A search of the vehicle uncovered 1,825 rolls, 113 brooms, and about 4 kilograms of loose cannabis concealed in four sacks. The driver was arrested at the scene and taken to the station for processing and arraignment.
The vehicle and narcotics were secured as evidence.
Police say the operation is part of a broader crackdown on illicit alcohol, narcotics trafficking, and criminal networks in the region.
The National Police Service reiterated its commitment to intensifying enforcement efforts to safeguard public safety, urging residents to continue sharing information that can help combat drug-related crime.
