Nairobi, Kenya — The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party has issued nomination certificates to its flag bearers set to contest various seats in the February 26 by-elections, including Isiolo South constituency and the Evurore, Muminji, and West Kabras wards.
The certificates were handed over at Hustler Plaza by UDA Party Chairperson and Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire.
The party’s nominee for Isiolo South Member of Parliament is Tubi Mohammed Tubi, while the ward-level candidates include Elphas Kainanga Shalakha, Peterson Njeru Njiri, and Dancun Muratia Nyaga, who will contest in West Kabras (Malava), Muminji, and Evurore wards respectively.
Speaking during the event, UDA Secretary General Senator Hassan Omar assured the candidates of the party’s full support throughout the campaign period.
Governor Mbarire urged the flag bearers to remain humble and focused as they seek to secure victory for the party in the upcoming mini-polls.
The event was also attended by National Elections Board Chairman Eng. Anthony Mwaura, UDA Executive Director, Nicodemus Bore, his deputy Higgins Mbugua, Mbeere North MP Leo Wamuthende, and members of the party’s National Elections Board.
The by-elections are scheduled to take place on February 26.
