Kenya Power Announces Friday Outages in Kiambu, Uasin Gishu, Murang’a and More

Nairobi, Kenya- Kenya Power has listed areas scheduled for electricity interruptions on Friday, May 16, 2025. The power cuts, expected to occur between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., are part of ongoing system maintenance efforts to improve service reliability.

The affected counties include Kiambu, Mombasa, Uasin Gishu, Nandi, Kakamega, and Murang’a.


Kiambu County

In Limuru Town, a scheduled outage from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. will affect KBC, Part of Limuru Town Shopping Centre, Karanjee, Kwambira, Kamirithu, Tharuini, StephJoy Boys, Rwacumaria, Kamonoru, Ndiuni, Nyataragi, Thigio, Thigio Buroti, Gichungo, Kiriri, and adjacent customers.

In Mai Mahiu, the outage will run from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Affected areas include River Springs Hotel, Mayers, Namja, China Wu-Yi, Gold Stone Quarry, Manyata Quarry, Yellow Stones Quarry, Kingston Quarry, Ewaso Kedong Market, Najire Girls, Earth Station, and adjacent customers.


Mombasa County

In Bombolulu, the outage is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will affect Naivas Supermarket Bombolulu, Kisimani, Makaburini, and adjacent customers.


Uasin Gishu County

Areas scheduled for outages from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. include Moiben Centre, Chebororwa, Kabomoi, Kokwet, Kapsigilai, Koitugum, Meibeki, Lower Moiben, Ki-borom, and adjacent customers.


Nandi County

Power cuts from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. will affect Tulwo, Kimungoror, Chepterwai, and adjacent customers.


Kakamega County

In Matungu, areas facing power outages from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. include Koyonzo, Munami, Ejinja, Kholeva, and adjacent customers.


Murang’a County

In Murang’a, power cuts are scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Kayole Market, Mananja Market, Makuyu Mugira, Muli Farm, Ndela Kakuzi, Shell Makuyu, Magunas Makuyu, Makuyu Girls, and surrounding areas.


Kenya Power advises all customers in the listed areas to take necessary precautions during the outage window and unplug electrical appliances to prevent damage when power is restored.
