KAJIADO, Kenya – In a move to reassure the nation’s youth, Attorney General Justin Muturi has committed to addressing the pressing concerns of Generation Z.
Speaking at a tree planting event in Ngong, Kajiado, Muturi acknowledged the government’s awareness of the younger generation’s issues and urged patience as measures are put in place to benefit them.
“We hear what the Gen Zs are saying, and we take it very seriously,” Muturi stated. “Whether you are leaderless or party-less, we hear you and we will take it into account. Just give us time, and we will make changes that will benefit you as the Gen Z.”
Muturi made these remarks on Monday while leading officers from his office in a monthly tree-planting exercise.
This initiative is part of Kenya’s ambitious plan to plant 15 billion trees, a goal being actively pursued under Muturi’s leadership.
Since the inception of the program, the State Law Office has planted 22,500 trees, contributing significantly to environmental conservation efforts.
Expressing gratitude for the team’s dedication, Muturi said, “We have planted 22,500 trees so far. Thank you, State Law Office, for the good work. We are confident that after three years, these trees will be mature.”
The tree planting initiative, which occurs on the second Monday of each month, is set to continue with the next event scheduled for August 12.
Solicitor General Shadrack Mose highlighted the urgency of environmental protection, stating, “We don’t have any other country to turn to.”
Mose called for collective action to safeguard Kenya’s natural resources, emphasizing the importance of environmental stewardship for future generations.
“Together, we can make a lasting impact and ensure a greener, more sustainable future for Kenya,” he urged.
