NAIROBI, Kenya- Prof Kindiki Kithure has been nominated as the incoming Deputy President, following the impeachment of Rigathi Gachagua.
His name has since been forwarded to the National Assembly for approval, and thereafter, he will be sworn into office.
Kithure is currently serving as the Interior Cabinet Secretary and hails from Tharaka Nithi County- which he served as Senator.
This comes at a time Gachagua has moved to court to challenge his impeachment, citing unfair trial.
Gachagua is currently admitted in Karen Hospital, after he developed health issues hours to his cross examination at the Senate.
