Police Recover Firearm, Arrest Two Suspects in Embakasi Raid

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya – Police in Nairobi have recovered a firearm and arrested two suspects following a night operation in the Pipeline area of Embakasi.

The National Police Service (NPS) said officers on patrol on Monday night, September 1, acted on intelligence that two individuals were in possession of a weapon.

Acting on the tip-off, the officers traced the suspects to the sixth floor of Munche Building, where they conducted a search inside a room occupied by the duo.

During the operation, a Powerline Airstrike pistol was found hidden inside a carton box.

The suspects were immediately arrested and are being held in custody as investigations continue.

In a statement, NPS commended members of the public for sharing the intelligence that led to the recovery, while praising officers for their swift response.

“The Service remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens, residents, and visitors,” NPS said.

The recovery comes amid heightened police patrols across Nairobi estates following rising concerns over armed robberies in the city.
