MAVOKO, Kenya – The Mavoko Law Court has given the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) seven days to complete investigations and decide whether to charge lawyer Angela Mulwa and Nelson Masiga over allegations involving a Range Rover and a disputed 21-acre parcel of land in Mlolongo.
The two are accused of stealing the Range Rover from property linked to psychiatrist Dr Victoria Nthunya Mutiso, who was shot dead on July 29, 2026.
Court gives DPP seven days
During a mention on Wednesday, the Mavoko Law Court granted the ODPP seven days to finalise investigations and prefer charges against Mulwa and Masiga.
The court ruled that if the DPP does not make a decision to charge the two within the period, they will be discharged unconditionally.
The case involves a Range Rover and a 21-acre piece of land in Mlolongo whose ownership and circumstances surrounding the vehicle have become part of investigations following Dr Mutiso’s death.
Masiga seeks to become state witness
Masiga has separately written to the DPP seeking to be admitted as a state witness.
His request is awaiting a response from the prosecution.
Meanwhile, Masiga remains detained at Mavoko Police Station as he completes processing for his bond.
The court will mention the matter again on September 2, 2026, when directions are expected.
Mulwa re-arrested in Dr Mutiso murder investigation
Mulwa’s case is also linked to the wider investigation into the killing of Dr Mutiso.
She had previously been released on a Sh1 million bail but was re-arrested on Thursday evening by Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) homicide detectives in connection with the murder investigation.
Dr Mutiso was shot dead on July 29, 2026, in Nairobi’s Upper Hill area.
The murder investigation has since expanded to include several people and issues surrounding the deceased’s property and relationships.
