NAIROBI, Kenya — Global YouTube sensation IShowSpeed concluded a landmark visit to Kenya this week, highlighting the nation’s vibrant culture, wildlife, and digital creativity.
Hosted by Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano, the visit showcased why Kenya is a leading hub for youth-driven digital content in Africa.
From the moment he arrived in Nairobi, Speed was greeted with energy and enthusiasm. The star engaged in a variety of cultural and recreational activities, from cooking Ugali and Chapati to feeding a baby rhino named “Rhinaldo” at Nairobi National Park — the only city park in the world bordering a capital city.
He also explored urban life, riding camels at Uhuru Park and playing basketball with young talents at the Mukuru Affordable Housing Project. “Speed saw the true face of Nairobi: modern, vibrant, and incredibly welcoming,” CS Miano noted.
Beyond the city, IShowSpeed experienced Kenya’s rich heritage in the Maasai Mara.
He performed the traditional Maasai jump, participated in the sacred ritual of drinking milk mixed with blood, and witnessed the Great Migration — recognised as the world’s largest terrestrial wildlife event and listed in the World Book of Records.
The visit also featured a record-breaking livestream, marking Speed’s milestone of 48 million subscribers live from Nairobi, placing Kenya at the top of his African tour rankings.
CS Miano described the visit as a testament to Kenya’s global appeal: “Speed leaves behind more than just viral clips. He leaves a powerful reminder that Kenya is not just a destination, it is the Cradle of Mankind.” She added that the country is “open, safe, and ready to welcome visitors.”
The tour reinforced Kenya’s dual identity as a cultural and natural hub, combining world-class wildlife experiences with thriving urban creativity. For visitors and digital audiences alike, the visit underscored Kenya as an immersive experience, leaving lasting impressions that encourage repeat visits.
