NAIROBI, Kenya – The National Police Service (NPS) has called on eligible Kenyan youth to participate in the nationwide police recruitment exercise scheduled for Monday, November 17, 2025, assuring the public that the process will be free of bribery and other forms of corruption.
In a statement issued on Friday, NPS spokesperson Muchiri Nyaga reaffirmed that the Service intends to recruit 10,000 new police constables, as advertised in local newspapers on October 31.
The one-day exercise will be conducted simultaneously at all 427 recruitment centres across the country from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Nyaga said the Service is committed to transparency, urging qualified applicants to present themselves without fear or favour.
“This is not just a chance to get a job; rather, it is a new dawn for Kenya,” he said. “The successful young men and women will form a new cohort of officers expected to drive the positive and reformist agenda currently underway in the Service.”

Crackdown on Bribery
The NPS also issued a stern warning against bribery and influence-peddling during the recruitment, acknowledging a history of corruption allegations in past exercises.
“We wish to state categorically and emphatically that anyone who indulges, or attempts to indulge, in bribery or corruption in any form—whether as a giver or a taker—will face the full force of the law,” Nyaga said.
The Service maintained that it has put in place stringent measures to ensure the recruitment adheres to the highest standards of professionalism and fairness.
Nyaga appealed to Kenyans to continue supporting the Service as it works to strengthen trust, accountability and people-centred policing across the country.
The fresh recruitment comes at a time when the Service is undertaking reforms aimed at improving professionalism, discipline and public confidence in law enforcement.
