KUCCPS Opens Applications For 2024 KCSE Candidates

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya- If you sat for the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams and are eyeing a university spot, now’s your time.

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has officially opened its application portal for degree programs, giving students the chance to secure placements in public and private universities.

Applications must be submitted via the KUCCPS student portal before the April 21, 2025 deadline.

According to a statement released on March 28, KUCCPS confirmed that students can now select from 40 public universities, 29 private universities, and the Open University of Kenya (OPUK).

Good news: there are more slots than students this year. KUCCPS CEO Dr. Agnes Mercy Wahome announced that universities have declared 300,000 available spaces, surpassing the 246,391 students who qualified for higher education.

Every eligible student who applies is guaranteed a placement in one of these institutions.

Students enrolling in public universities will have access to government scholarships and Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) funding.

However, those joining private universities will only be eligible for HELB loans.

KUCCPS has organized degree courses into 20 clusters, covering everything from Law, Engineering, and Medicine to Fine Arts, IT, and Social Sciences.

This classification helps students find programs that align with their career aspirations.

How to Apply—Step-by-Step Guide

Applying is straightforward. Candidates need to log in to their KUCCPS portal, select their preferred degree programs, and submit their applications before the deadline.

For those still deciding, KUCCPS provides a comprehensive guide on available courses and institutions, ensuring that students make informed choices.

With the application window officially open, securing a university placement is just a few clicks away.
