NAIROBI, Kenya – The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) is setting the record straight: its Director-General, Eng. Silas Kinoti, is not going anywhere.
The state agency issued a firm denial of social media rumors claiming Kinoti was set to proceed on terminal leave. The authority dismissed the reports as entirely false, urging the public to ignore the noise and stick to verified sources.
“We wish to inform the public that the information circulating on social media alleging that Eng. Silas Kinoti… is set to proceed on terminal leave is false,” KURA stated.
And Kinoti himself isn’t staying silent. In a sharp rebuttal posted on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, the Director-General labeled the rumors as “completely false, misleading, and undeserving of any serious attention.”
“I am not proceeding on terminal leave,” Kinoti declared. “These allegations are baseless and should be treated with the disregard they deserve.”
The public, he stressed, should avoid being misled by unverified online chatter and instead rely solely on official communication channels for any updates regarding KURA or its leadership.
As far as Kinoti is concerned, it’s business as usual.
“I continue to discharge my duties without interruption,” he said, reaffirming the agency’s commitment to its core mandate—developing and maintaining urban road infrastructure across the country.
So, no—Kinoti isn’t packing up his office. The DG is still very much in charge, and KURA is still paving Kenya’s urban future.
