NAIROBI, Kenya – Makadara Sub-County played host to Principal Secretary for Interior Security and National Administration, Dr. Raymond Omollo, Tuesday as he toured the Viwandani Climate WorX site near Lunga Lunga Police Station.
The visit spotlighted a grassroots initiative tackling climate challenges through community-centered solutions.
Dr. Omollo praised the Climate WorX project for its innovative approach to environmental restoration and resilience-building.

The initiative combines activities such as tree planting, clean energy adoption, and waste management to address climate change while creating green jobs and improving local living conditions.
Dr. Omollo noted that the initiative is a clear demonstration of how communities can lead the way in tackling climate change while promoting sustainability and livelihoods.
He urged all stakeholders and residents to actively support such transformative efforts.
The Viwandani site is part of the government’s broader strategy to integrate environmental action with grassroots engagement, contributing to Kenya’s Vision 2030 and the global sustainable development agenda.
Dr. Omollo reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting community-driven projects that foster partnerships for a greener future.
