NAIROBI, Kenya — The National Police Service (NPS) has issued an update on the upcoming nationwide police recruitment exercise, announcing several additions and corrections to recruitment centers ahead of the exercise slated for Monday, November 17, 2025.
In a notice dated Friday, November 7, the NPS clarified that the adjustments affect a few locations listed in the original announcement published on October 31, 2025, in the Daily Nation, The Standard, and The Star newspapers.
“Pursuant, the National Police Service wishes to bring to the attention of the public that the following additions and corrections have been made to the recruitment centers for police constables,” the statement read in part.
Among the key updates, ex-National Youth Service (NYS) graduates will now have the option to present themselves for recruitment either at their respective home sub-county recruitment centers or at the NYS Headquarters in Ruaraka, Nairobi, which was inadvertently omitted from the initial list.
In Kajiado County, the recruitment venue for Kajiado West has been shifted to the Elangata Wuas DCC’s Office instead of Ole Polos, while in Narok County, the Narok West recruitment will now take place at Ng’osuani Centre.
The NPS emphasized that all other details contained in the earlier advertisement remain unchanged.
The corrections come just days after the NPS reissued its nationwide recruitment notice following a ruling by the Employment and Labour Relations Court, which reaffirmed that the authority for police recruitment lies with the Office of the Inspector General.
“Pursuant to Articles 238, 243, 244, and 245 as read with Articles 10, 27(8), and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya, the National Police Service is pleased to announce the recruitment of suitably qualified persons to be trained as police constables,” the earlier notice stated.
The recruitment exercise will run from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at all designated centers nationwide.
