NAIROBI, Kenya — The Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority has identified 126 individuals eligible to inherit unclaimed financial assets belonging to deceased persons.
In a notice dated March 17, the authority said the claims were submitted by administrators, relatives, and legal representatives in line with the Unclaimed Financial Assets Regulations, 2016.
“Notice is issued that the Authority has received claims for unclaimed assets from the following persons,” the statement said.
The assets include dormant bank accounts, mobile money balances, and other financial holdings transferred to the authority after remaining unclaimed.
UFAA said the claimants include public administrators such as Deputy County Commissioners and Public Trustees acting on behalf of estates.
The authority warned that payments will proceed within 30 days unless objections are filed.
“Take notice that if no objection has been lodged… payment will be made,” the notice added.
Members of the public with competing claims have been urged to submit objections within the stipulated period.

Unclaimed assets often arise where families are unaware of financial accounts or where succession processes remain incomplete.
The process is anchored in statutory frameworks governing estate administration and financial oversight, with UFAA acting as custodian until rightful beneficiaries are identified.
