Google Unleashes AI Max to Boost African SMEs in the Digital Marketplace

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya– Google has introduced a new AI-powered tool dubbed AI Max for Search Campaigns, promising to supercharge digital marketing for African businesses — especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with tight budgets.

The tool, now available in open beta globally, is powered by Google’s Gemini AI and is built to simplify advertising while improving performance. It automatically matches search queries, adjusts ad content in real-time, and directs users to the most relevant pages — all without increasing the marketer’s workload.

“AI Max is about making advertising work harder — not adding to the workload,” said Brian Burdick, Google’s Senior Director of Search.

According to Google, early users have already seen up to 14% more conversions at no extra cost. The feature is embedded into existing Search campaigns and can be activated with a few clicks.

This move is part of Google’s broader mission to empower Africa’s digital economy, complementing initiatives like the Hustle Academy, which trains entrepreneurs in online growth strategies.

For businesses battling for visibility in noisy online spaces, AI Max could be the game-changer — helping African entrepreneurs connect with the right customers, faster.
