KAM CEO Anthony Mwangi Steps Down After Two Years of Pivotal Leadership

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya- The Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) has announced the resignation of its Chief Executive Officer, Anthony Mwangi, after a transformative two-year tenure.

Under his leadership, KAM made significant strides in shaping the future of Kenya’s manufacturing sector, particularly through the Manufacturing 20by30 Strategy.

Since taking the helm in 2022, Mwangi has been instrumental in positioning KAM as a thought leader in the manufacturing space.

His advocacy efforts and strategic direction have not only elevated the Association’s profile but have also laid a strong foundation for future growth.

Mwangi’s tenure has been marked by a relentless pursuit of sustainable industrialization, a goal central to KAM’s mission and to Kenya’s broader economic aspirations.

“Anthony Mwangi’s leadership has been pivotal in advancing our goals,” KAM stated in a press release. “His vision and dedication have left an indelible mark on the organization and the industry at large.”

In the wake of Mwangi’s departure, Tobias Alando, KAM’s Chief Operating Officer, will assume the role of Acting CEO.

Alando is no stranger to the challenges and opportunities within the sector, having been a key figure in KAM’s operations.

The Board of Directors has already begun the search for a new CEO, confident that Alando’s interim leadership will ensure continuity and further the progress initiated under Mwangi.

KAM’s board expressed its confidence in the ongoing transition, stating, “We are committed to maintaining the momentum set by Mr. Mwangi and are optimistic about the future with Tobias Alando at the helm.”

As KAM navigates this leadership transition, the Association is calling for the continued support of its members, partners, and stakeholders.

The organization remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering sustainable industrialization, a core element of its mission.

KAM’s leadership reiterated that the strategic objectives established during Mwangi’s tenure will continue to guide their efforts moving forward.

“We thank Anthony Mwangi for his invaluable contributions and wish him the best in his future endeavors,” the statement concluded.
