NAIROBI, Kenya- Nairobi is about to become the epicenter of coffee artistry as it hosts the DaVinci Gourmet Barista Craft Championship 2024 next month.
This highly anticipated event promises to be a vibrant celebration of coffee culture, uniting baristas, connoisseurs, and enthusiasts from across the globe under the theme, “United Through Coffee.”
The DaVinci Gourmet Barista Craft Championship is a global showdown taking place across Africa, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and Latin America.
Competitors from over 20 countries are vying for top honors, with the allure of up to $6,000 in cash prizes and a sponsored coffee experience trip fueling their creative fires.
These talented baristas are pushing the boundaries of flavor, technique, and presentation, crafting coffee-inspired masterpieces that reflect the latest trends in the industry.
The competition kicked off on August 1 with the national preliminary round, which runs through August 18, 2024.
In this round, participants from across Africa are submitting digital entries showcasing their coffee creations made with DaVinci Gourmet products and espresso.
These entries, complete with detailed recipes, preparation methods, and stunning visuals, are being judged to determine who will advance to the Africa finals in Nairobi.
On September 14, 2024, Nairobi will host the Africa finals, where successful entrants from the preliminary round will face off in a series of espresso-based challenges.
These challenges will test the competitors’ technical skills, flavor complexity, and presentation, all under the watchful eyes of expert judges.
The stakes are high, and the atmosphere is expected to be electric as baristas battle it out for the chance to represent Africa on the world stage.
The journey doesn’t end in Nairobi. Winners from the Africa finals will move on to the worldwide finals at the prestigious FHA HoReCa event in Singapore, scheduled for October 23 and 24, 2024.
Here, national champions from each participating country or region will compete for the ultimate title, showcasing their skills in practical tests, latte art, and the presentation of their signature coffee beverages.
