NCBA Gets Rid of Monthly Fees for Retail Banking Accounts

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya- Big news for NCBA customers: Starting July 1, 2024, the bank will no longer charge monthly fees for retail banking accounts.

This change aims to provide better value and affordability for both existing and new customers, reflecting NCBA’s commitment to customer-centric financial solutions.

From salary accounts to the Premier – All-in-One package, NCBA’s new policy will impact a variety of consumer banking products.

Customers with Platinum Flexi, Platinum Pay as you go, Gold Pay as you go, and Gold-All-in-One accounts can now enjoy their banking services without the burden of monthly maintenance fees.

The benefits extend to commercial and SME accounts as well. Business Current, Gold, and Platinum account holders will see these monthly fees disappear, allowing businesses to maximize the value of their banking services.

Tirus Mwithiga, Group Director of Retail Banking at NCBA, emphasized the bank’s dedication to supporting customers amid challenging economic conditions.

“We’ve realized with the current economic landscape the customer values every shilling, and by eliminating the monthly account maintenance fees for both local and foreign currency accounts our goal is to provide a product that ensures they get the full value of their money,” he stated.

Mr. Mwithiga highlighted that customers will only incur charges for specific services and transactions they utilize, as outlined in the bank’s published tariff guide.

This move is designed to help customers manage their finances more effectively during these hard times.

By removing monthly fees, NCBA aims to make banking more accessible and affordable, helping customers do more with their money. This shift reflects a broader trend in the banking industry, moving from ledger fee-based accounts to pay-as-you-go models without maintenance fees.
