NAIROBI, Kenya- Safaricom’s mobile money platform, M-PESA, has introduced a groundbreaking feature, M-PESA Ratiba, which allows users to automate their recurring payments.

Whether it’s paying rent, school fees, or any other regular bills, M-PESA Ratiba makes the process effortless by enabling users to set up standing orders directly from their M-PESA wallets.

This innovation is the first of its kind on a mobile money platform, and it’s poised to transform how Kenyans manage their finances.

With M-PESA Ratiba, users can schedule automatic transfers from their wallets on a daily, weekly, monthly, or even yearly basis.

Gone are the days of missing payments or stressing over reminders. Now, you can automate payments to individuals or recurring services with just a few taps.

What sets this feature apart is its simplicity and user-friendly design. The setup process is straightforward, and there are no penalties for failed transactions due to insufficient funds—a huge relief for those who may worry about fluctuating balances.

Customers can use this feature for everything from paying utility bills to sending upkeep for loved ones, making it an ideal solution for managing personal finances.

Peter Ndegwa, CEO of Safaricom, emphasized that M-PESA Ratiba is part of Safaricom’s ongoing efforts to deliver personalized digital financial services.

With its ability to handle standing orders, this feature will not only enhance customer convenience but also contribute significantly to financial inclusion, especially among the underbanked.

The potential for driving subscription services is immense. From media and entertainment to e-commerce and healthcare, industries across the board are set to benefit from the easy-to-use standing order feature.

M-PESA Ratiba could unlock new possibilities for businesses looking to streamline subscription payments, making it a win-win for both service providers and customers alike.
