Tanzanian music stars Diamond Platnumz and Zuchu officially unveiled the face and name of their newborn daughter, Sandrah Naseeb, during a lavish 40-day celebration in Dar es Salaam.
The couple introduced their daughter to the public on Saturday, September 12, 2026, during a star-studded celebration that brought together their families, close friends and several prominent figures from Tanzania’s entertainment industry.
The event at Saint Laurent Garden in Kawe marked the first major public unveiling of the baby, who was born on August 2, 2026. The celebration also brought together Diamond’s children from previous relationships, creating a rare family gathering around the newborn.
The couple had kept much of their daughter’s identity away from the public since her birth, fuelling curiosity among their millions of fans across East Africa.
That changed during the 40-day celebration when the couple finally presented the baby to the public.
The baby’s name also emerged during the celebrations after Zuchu’s mother, veteran Taarab musician Khadija Kopa, revealed details from the child’s birth certificate.
Kopa announced that the baby is named Sandrah Nasibu, while also revealing another name, Sanura, which honours Diamond’s mother, Sanura Kasimu, popularly known as Mama Dangote.
“Na nimepata hii bahasha na ina cheti ndani na jina la mtoto lipo hapo. Haya jamani jina la mtoto wetu ni Sandrah Nasibu,” Kopa said during the celebration.
She added: “Kwa jina jingine Sanura. Hili jina ni la bibi yake baba.”
According to reporting on the birth certificate, the document lists the child as Sandrah Nasibu Issac. It also records her parents using their official names, Zuhura Othman Soud and Nasibu Abdul Issac.
Diamond has also referred to his daughter as Sandrah Junior, or “SJ”, on social media.
The singer and Zuchu welcomed their first child together on August 2, 2026, after months of intense public interest surrounding their relationship and pregnancy.
The celebration also became a major reunion for Diamond’s blended family. His children with Ugandan businesswoman Zari Hassan, Princess Tiffah and Prince Nillan, travelled from South Africa to Tanzania for the occasion. Diamond’s son with Kenyan singer Tanasha Donna, Naseeb Junior, also attended the event alongside his mother. Dylan, another of Diamond’s children, was also present, bringing the singer’s children together as they welcomed their youngest sister.
Princess Tiffah attracted attention after delivering a short speech dedicated to the newborn.
“I want to say congratulations on the baby because it’s been a long time that I wanted one. I’m gonna play with her all the time and protect her,” Tiffah said.
Tanasha’s presence also drew attention because she travelled to Tanzania with Naseeb Junior for the occasion. Zari, however, did not attend the event herself.
Diamond and Zuchu’s celebration attracted several high-profile names from Tanzania’s entertainment scene. Among those spotted at the festivities were singer Nandy and her husband Billnass, musician Juma Jux and his wife Priscilla Ojo, as well as other members of the Wasafi entertainment circle.
The celebrations began with a Henna Night before the main 40-day ceremony, with guests embracing traditional attire, music and other cultural elements.
Diamond also imposed a strict dress code for guests attending the main celebration. Guests were expected to wear Arabic-inspired attire, while members of the media were required to wear black and carry valid media identification cards. Diamond warned that guests who failed to follow the rules could be denied entry.
The venue itself adopted a muted luxury theme, featuring beige, cream, dusty rose and gold tones alongside Arabic-inspired décor.
Diamond had earlier thanked relatives and friends for supporting the family during the period following his daughter’s birth.
“Leo ni Siku Maalum ya 40 ya Binti yangu Kipenzi,” Diamond wrote in a message inviting family, friends and other guests to the celebration. He also thanked those who had stood by the family.
