Nigeria’s iconic music duo P-Square has been pulled into another bitter family dispute, with twin brothers Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, and Paul Okoye, known as Rudeboy, once again at odds.
Their elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye, has also become central to the latest fallout, which has moved beyond personal disagreements into allegations over music royalties, business dealings and legal action.
The latest dispute has effectively reopened wounds that appeared to have healed when Peter and Paul reconciled in 2021.
Peter has now described that reunion as unsuccessful and has publicly revisited the events that led to the twins’ latest separation. His allegations have also placed Jude at the centre of a long-running dispute over P-Square’s finances.
The accusations remain contested, with Jude defending his position as the legal proceedings continue.
How the Latest P-Square Fallout Started
The latest escalation centres on money generated from P-Square’s extensive music catalogue.
Peter has alleged that he discovered financial irregularities after an international company approached him over a potential purchase of the duo’s music catalogue.
According to Peter, the proposed transaction required detailed records of the group’s historical royalty earnings. While attempting to obtain those records, he says he discovered Northside Music, a company that he claims was established separately from the twins’ original business arrangements.
Peter has alleged that the company collected royalties connected to P-Square without his knowledge.
The allegations eventually became part of an investigation by Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Jude has faced prosecution alongside Northside Music over allegations involving approximately ₦1.38 billion, US$1 million and £34,537.59. Jude pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The case has therefore turned what was once a private family disagreement into a public legal battle.
Peter and Paul Take Different Sides
The dispute has also driven a wedge between the twins.
Peter has publicly accused Paul of failing to support him during the dispute involving Jude. Paul, meanwhile, has criticised Peter for taking their family problems into the public arena.
Paul has also appeared in court in support of Jude, deepening the divide between the twins.
‘Winning’ Adds Another Layer
The disagreement has not been limited to money. The brothers have also clashed over music.
Peter’s release of his solo song “Winning” triggered another public disagreement after Paul accused him of using material he considered his own.
The argument added a creative dimension to an already complicated dispute over the brothers’ music careers.
For years, Peter and Paul built their reputation around performing together, producing elaborate videos and presenting themselves as a united musical act.

However, the partnership eventually broke down again. Peter has now described the earlier reconciliation as having failed, while continuing to explain his version of the events that followed.

Peter Changes His Birthday Plans
The depth of the rift has also emerged through Peter’s decision to separate his birthday celebrations from his twin brother.
The brothers were traditionally associated with the same November 18 birthday.
Peter has since announced that he will instead celebrate his birthday on November 30, marking another symbolic step away from the identity he shared with Paul as one half of P-Square.
