NAIROBI, Kenya – President William Ruto has announced a major reshuffle in Kenya’s foreign service, nominating and redeploying ambassadors, high commissioners, and consul generals in a move aimed at boosting performance and service delivery.
The changes, announced on Friday, August 15, are part of the administration’s efforts to align diplomatic appointments with the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
In accordance with Article 132(2)(e) of the Constitution, President Ruto has submitted the nominations to the National Assembly for vetting and approval.
Key nominations include:
- Amb. Galma Mukhe Boru – High Commissioner to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
- Amb. Anthony Mwaniki Muchiri – Ambassador to Ankara, Turkey
- Amb. Lucy Kiruthu – Ambassador to Bangkok, Thailand
- Mr. Henry Wambuma – Ambassador to Bujumbura, Burundi
- Amb. Catherine Kirumba Karemu – High Commissioner to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
- Amb. George Morara Orina – Ambassador to Dublin, Ireland
- Mr. Abdirashid Salat Abdille – Ambassador to Jakarta, Indonesia
- Amb. Maurice Odhiambo Makoloo – High Commissioner to London, UK
- Amb. Joseph Musyoka Masila – Ambassador to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
- Amb. Edwin Afande – Ambassador to Vienna, Austria
- Hon. Florence Chepngetich Bore – Ambassador to Windhoek, Namibia
Consul General appointments:
- Amb. Mohamed Ramadhan Ruwange – Arusha, Tanzania
- Ms. Jayne Jepkorir – Dubai, UAE
- Ms. Judy Kiaria Nkumiri – Goma, DRC
Deputy Head of Mission appointments:
- Mr. Mohamed Amin Sheikh Nuh – Berlin, Germany
- Amb. Kipkosgei Toroitich – Kampala, Uganda
- Amb. Moni Manyange – Kinshasa, DRC
- Amb. Geoffrey Eyanae Kaituko – Ottawa, Canada
- Amb. Suleiman Ibrahim Roba – Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
- Mr. David Mwangi Karanja – Seoul, South Korea
State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed said the realignment is intended to “optimize performance and enhance service delivery” across Kenya’s diplomatic missions worldwide.
If approved, the nominees will take up their new postings in the coming weeks.
