Fear Ends for Msambweni Residents as DCI Arrests Notorious Gang Trio

MSAMBWENI, Kenya — A joint team of officers from DCI Msambweni and Diani Police Station has arrested three notorious gang members responsible for terrorising residents in Tiwi, Mwachema, Mwakamba, and along the beachlines of Matuga and Msambweni.

Acting on crucial intelligence, the officers executed a carefully planned operation that led them directly to the gang’s hideout in Tiwi.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Swaleh Idd, Ismael Sefu, and Omar Rama, who are now in custody at Diani Police Station.

The suspects are undergoing processing in preparation for arraignment in court, bringing an end to a period of fear and insecurity for the affected communities.

The DCI commended the joint operation, emphasising that the arrests are part of ongoing efforts to curb criminal activity and safeguard residents along the South Coast.

Residents have welcomed the development, noting that the gang’s activities had significantly disrupted daily life and tourism along the coastal areas.
