TORORO, Uganda — President William Ruto has reaffirmed the strength of Kenya’s economic relationship with Uganda, noting that exports to the neighbouring country reached nearly Sh120 billion in the last year.
Speaking during a joint engagement with Ugandan officials, Ruto said the figures reflect not only robust trade but also the depth of diplomatic ties between the two nations.
“We exported nearly Sh120 billion to this great country, and the bilateral relations between Uganda and Kenya are solid,” the President stated, emphasising that cooperation remains central to regional stability and shared prosperity.
Ruto’s remarks come at a time when both governments are working to expand infrastructure links — including pipeline, rail, and road networks — to support smoother movement of goods across borders. Uganda remains Kenya’s largest export market in East Africa.

The President added that Kenya is committed to strengthening partnerships that boost trade, enhance regional integration, and position East Africa as a unified economic bloc.
