Bahati, Diana Marua Reveal Sh1m Wedding Invitation

NAIROBI, Kenya – Kenyan musician Kevin Bahati and content creator Diana Marua have announced the date for their long-awaited wedding, putting a Sh1 million price tag on each invitation for the exclusive ceremony.

The couple revealed that they will officially wed on November 6, 2026, after 10 years together. They will restrict attendance to just 100 guests, with anyone hoping to secure a seat required to pay Sh1 million for an invitation.

Bahati announced the unusual arrangement while marking the couple’s decade together, saying he had decided to replace his usual anniversary gifts with a formal commitment to Diana.

“Finally, it’s time to mark a decade of love. My love, I give you gifts to celebrate you every year, and this year we are celebrating 10 years, and instead of giving you 10 gifts, I have decided to make it official,” Bahati said.

He then revealed the strict guest limit and invitation price.

“On this special day we will only have 100 people in attendance, and anyone that would like to attend must pay Sh1 million to get the invite,” he said.

Diana subsequently confirmed the wedding date, calling on those interested in attending to secure their invitations.

“Ladies and gentlemen, November 6, 2026, is the Bahatis’ big day. Call now and purchase the invite,” Diana said.

If all 100 invitations are purchased at the announced price, the event could generate Sh100 million from guest invitations alone. The figure also closely matches the wedding budget Bahati previously discussed publicly.

In May 2026, Bahati said he intended to spend Sh100 million on the wedding after Diana questioned why they had remained together for nearly a decade without holding a formal ceremony. Diana later questioned whether such an amount would be better directed towards an investment, saying she would rather buy a ranch with Sh100 million.

The couple’s wedding plans have also evolved into a larger celebration. In June, Bahati described his vision as a 10-day “decade of love” celebration, featuring ten parties before culminating in the white wedding.

“I am going to do for you ten days of celebration. It will be a decade of love, that is our tag line and I will make sure it is ten parties with the last one being the white wedding,” Bahati said.

He also ruled out the traditional approach of forming a committee to raise money for the ceremony, insisting that he wanted to finance the wedding himself.

“Wedding yangu, yenye nakufanyia wewe, because I will marry you, no one else. Wedding haitakuwa na committee ya kuchanga,” Bahati said.

Bahati has previously described his plans for Diana as an exceptionally lavish celebration. During the earlier discussion, he said he wanted the wedding to stand out across the continent.

“The wedding I’m going to do for you will be the best Africa has seen,” he said.

He also revealed that Diana’s wedding gown could cost at least Sh5 million, adding to the scale of the celebration he envisioned.

“Gown, I know it won’t be less than Sh five million,” Bahati said.

Bahati also acknowledged the length of their relationship as the couple prepared to formalise their union.

“After 10 years together, I hope I have not taken so long,” he said.

Diana told him that the timing mattered less than the commitment itself.

“Baby, time does not matter, as long as we do it the right way, and time does not matter as long as you commit forever to me,” she said.
