Media personality Grace Msalame has marked her 40th birthday with a personal milestone after being baptised in the Jordan River during a spiritual pilgrimage to Israel.

The television presenter shared the emotional experience with her followers on social media, describing the ceremony as more than a birthday celebration. For Msalame, it represented the fulfilment of a lifelong dream to visit the Holy Land and publicly reaffirm her Christian faith in one of the most significant locations in biblical history.

Her baptism took place in the Jordan River, the site traditionally believed to be where Jesus Christ was baptised by John the Baptist. Every year, thousands of Christian pilgrims from around the world travel to the river to renew their faith, pray and take part in baptism ceremonies.

The experience carried an even deeper meaning as Msalame shared it coincided with a milestone birthday and the beginning of what she described as a “new season” in her life.

Msalame revealed that she had previously been baptised at the age of 14.

More than two decades later, she chose to undergo baptism again, explaining that the ceremony symbolised a renewed commitment to her walk with Christ rather than the beginning of her faith journey.

Dressed in a traditional white baptismal robe, the media personality appeared visibly emotional as she stepped into the historic waters surrounded by fellow pilgrims.

For years, Msalame had expressed a desire to visit Israel and experience the places associated with the life and ministry of Jesus Christ.

The broadcaster described the experience as one she would treasure for the rest of her life, saying it strengthened her relationship with God while giving fresh perspective as she entered a new decade.

After the ceremony, Msalame took to social media to share photographs and videos documenting the emotional occasion.

She also reflected on the significance of publicly declaring her faith, accompanying her post with the Bible verse Galatians 2:20.

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.”

Although Msalame is widely recognised for her work in television and media, she has consistently spoken about the importance of faith, family and personal growth throughout her career.

Beyond hosting television programmes, she frequently shares devotional reflections, messages of gratitude and encouraging words with her online community.
