NAIROBI, Kenya — Police have recovered 80 rolls of suspected cannabis sativa during an intelligence-led operation in Naivasha, Nakuru County.
The narcotics were seized at Hope Well Estate in Naivasha Town following information provided by members of the public.
Police officers acted on the intelligence before raiding premises within the estate, where they conducted a search that led to the recovery of the suspected cannabis.
One person was arrested during the operation and is currently being held at Naivasha Police Station.
The suspect is expected to be arraigned in court as investigators continue with the case.
Police said the recovered substances have been preserved as exhibits as the investigation proceeds.
The National Police Service thanked members of the public for providing information that helped officers identify the premises where the suspected narcotics were found.
Authorities also urged residents to continue reporting suspected drug-related activities to the police to support efforts to combat the trafficking and distribution of illicit substances.
The operation comes amid continued police efforts to disrupt the supply of illicit drugs and other criminal activities in communities across the country.
