NAIROBI, Kenya- UDA Secretary-General Hassan Omar has said the party will use the fingers of dead voters to cast ballots for President William Ruto in the 2027 General Election.
Speaking during a political meeting, Omar embraced the “Kumira Kumira” mobilisation slogan, a Kikuyu phrase urging supporters to turn out in large numbers.
“Two terms for William Ruto. Even us, during the election, we shall be Kumira Kumira,” Omar said.
He added: “Even the one dying today, we take his finger and ensure they vote. Kumira Kumira even for the one buried today.”
Omar also urged supporters to register as voters in large numbers, saying higher numbers would enable their communities to demand more development projects, Cabinet appointments and other government positions.
“If we register more people, we shall demand more development and more Cabinet positions, as well as other positions,” he said.
Voting using another person’s identity, including that of a deceased voter, is prohibited under Kenyan electoral law.
Omar did not provide evidence that UDA had taken steps to implement the plan.
