NYAHURURU, Kenya- DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua has declared a 288-day countdown to what he called a “United Alternative Government”, as party Secretary-General John Methu led a rally in Nyahururu.
In a message thanking Nyahururu residents for their support, Gachagua said Kenyans wanted a new administration that respected citizens, the Constitution, the rule of law and human life.
“In the next 288 days, the United Alternative Government will usher in a new administration,” he said, adding that DCP would work to make Kenya a better place to live.
Gachagua said the party team, led by Methu, was continuing to strengthen the Wantam movement across the country.

Methu, who is also the Nyandarua Senator, urged opposition leaders to unite ahead of the 2027 General Election and support whoever is chosen as their flag bearer. He said intimidation would not deter DCP from pursuing its political agenda.
Methu also urged Mt Kenya residents to support the opposition, warning they risked being left out of development if President William Ruto is re-elected.
Murang’a Governor Irungu Kangata, Laikipia Senator John Kimyua, Mukurweini MP John Kaguchia, Naivasha MP Jayne Kihara and Ol Kalou politician Kamau Ngotho were among the leaders at the gathering. Kangata called for unity and urged residents to join DCP.
The rally formed part of the party’s grassroots mobilisation in the Mt Kenya region as political activity gathers pace ahead of the next election.
