NAIROBI, Kenya- President William Ruto is presiding over the passing-out parade of General Service Unit recruits at the National Police College, Embakasi “B” Campus, in Nairobi.
The ongoing ceremony marks the recruits’ completion of their training before they formally join the National Police Service.
Senior National Police Service officials are attending the event, which includes an inspection of the parade and displays by the recruits.
The officers have undergone training in policing, physical fitness, discipline, public safety and the protection of human rights.
After graduation, the new officers will join the GSU and support security operations across the country.
The unit’s responsibilities include maintaining public order, protecting strategic installations and responding to security emergencies.
The Embakasi “B” Campus is the National Police Service’s main institution for basic and specialised GSU training.
