Kajiado Man Sentenced to Life Imprisonment for Defiling 11-Year-Old Boy

Date:

KAJIADO, Kenya — A Kajiado court has sentenced a middle-aged man to life imprisonment after he was found guilty of defiling an 11-year-old boy in a landmark case championed by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Principal Magistrate V. Kachuodho delivered the judgement, noting that the offence, which occurred in 2022, involved the accused luring the child from his home under false pretences before subjecting him to intimidation and sexual abuse.

The court described the act as “grave” and emphasized that the offender deliberately targeted a vulnerable child, making the crime deserving of the maximum sentence under the law.

The prosecution, led by Linda Nzioka, presented five witnesses whose consistent and credible testimonies proved the case beyond doubt.

The conviction underscores the DPP’s commitment to safeguarding children and ensuring that perpetrators of sexual violence are held fully accountable.

“This sentence serves as a reminder that the justice system will relentlessly pursue anyone who exploits and harms children,” said a spokesperson for the DPP.

The ruling has been hailed as a milestone in Kenya’s fight against sexual violence, sending a strong message that crimes against minors will meet the full force of the law.
