Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) chaplains on Wednesday morning led prayers for the late opposition leader Raila Odinga at the VVIP Lounge of the Kasarani Stadium shortly after his body arrived from India, where he passed away while receiving treatment.
The solemn service was attended by top national leaders and Raila’s immediate family. Among those present were President William Ruto, former President Uhuru Kenyatta, and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, alongside Raila’s widow Ida Odinga, children, and close relatives.
KDF chaplains led the interdenominational prayers moments after the casket, draped in the national flag, was wheeled into the VVIP lounge.
President Ruto led the viewing of the body joined by other senior officials including Defence CS Kipchumba Murkomen and ODM party leaders.
