NAIROBI, Kenya- The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), in partnership with the United States military, has assessed prospective candidates seeking admission to three American service academies.
The U.S. Military Group Kenya (USMILGP) conducted a Candidate Fitness Assessment at the Kenya Military Academy (KMA) for applicants to the United States Military Academy (USMA), the United States Naval Academy (USNA) and the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA).
The assessment tested candidates’ physical readiness against standards required for admission to the institutions, which train future military officers.
Defence cooperation and leadership development
The exercise highlighted the role of international military education in developing leadership and strengthening professional military capacity.
KDF said the partnership with the US supports professional growth, military cooperation and operational effectiveness.
The two countries’ defence relationship is based on cooperation, professional military development and a shared commitment to regional and international security, according to KDF.
Through education and exchange initiatives, the militaries also aim to promote cross-cultural understanding and broaden professional development opportunities for their personnel.
KDF said investing in future military leaders through international exposure and professional education contributes to a capable and mission-ready force.
