NAIROBI, Kenya- President William Ruto has confirmed that Kenya will participate in the upcoming G7 Summit following an invitation from Emmanuel Macron.
The summit, which brings together the world’s leading advanced economies, comes shortly after Nairobi hosts the Africa Forward Summit, creating a strategic opportunity to push Africa’s priorities onto the global stage.
Ruto said Kenya intends to use the platform to advocate for reforms in the global financial architecture and to strengthen partnerships that support sustainable economic growth.
The President emphasized the importance of linking regional discussions from Africa with global decision-making processes, noting that the timing of the two summits offers a unique diplomatic advantage.
Kenya’s participation underscores its growing international profile and its role as a bridge between Africa and major global economies.
The engagement also reflects deepening ties between Kenya and France, with both countries aligning on key issues including economic cooperation, climate action, and development financing.
