NAIROBI, Kenya – The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened applications for the March 2026 intake to the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), offering thousands of KCSE graduates a chance to pursue careers in health and allied sciences.
In a notice published in Tuesday’s My Gov, KUCCPS invited candidates who sat the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination between 2000 and 2024 to apply for admission through its online student portal. The application window closes on January 27, 2026.
The placement exercise targets certificate and diploma programmes offered by KMTC, the country’s largest health training institution, which operates more than 70 campuses nationwide.
KUCCPS said the move is part of a broader effort to expand access to health-related training in response to growing demand for skilled personnel in hospitals, public health facilities and community-based healthcare services.

KMTC continues to expand its training capacity through satellite campuses hosted within county hospitals, allowing students to gain early clinical exposure during their studies.
KUCCPS encouraged prospective applicants to log into the portal, assess programme requirements carefully and select courses that align with their KCSE performance and career goals.
The agency noted that the wide eligibility window provides opportunities for both recent school leavers and older candidates seeking to re-enter higher education.
With the January 27 deadline approaching, applicants were advised to submit their applications early to avoid last-minute system congestion.
KUCCPS said placement will be based on merit, available capacity and applicants’ programme preferences.
The exercise is expected to support government efforts to strengthen Kenya’s healthcare workforce, particularly in primary healthcare, emergency response and specialised clinical services.
