NAIROBI, Kenya-A man was on Thursday arrested in Nairobi’s Utawala area after detectives recovered a firearm loaded with ammunition during a raid.
The suspect, identified as Brown Carlos Butrose Kombo, was apprehended at a residence in Kelvin Heights by detectives attached to Embakasi Sub-County.

Police said a Glock pistol with 17 rounds of ammunition was discovered hidden inside a refrigerator during the operation. The raid followed intelligence reports linking the suspect to the weapon.
The scene was documented and the firearm secured as evidence.
The suspect is being held in custody and is expected to be arraigned once investigations are completed.
Illegal firearms have remained a concern in parts of Nairobi, with police vowing to intensify operations targeting criminal networks.
