NAIROBI, Kenya — Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka has openly praised former Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i, describing him as his preferred presidential candidate and one who has shown remarkable political growth.
Speaking during a media interview, Onyonka said Matiang’i — long regarded as a technocrat rather than a frontline politician — had transformed into a more assertive and confident national figure.
“I have a presidential candidate who is the most improved student in class,” Onyonka said. “Dr. Matiang’i is not a politician but has become more punchy with his statements, and I love the product we have so far.”
