Two Arrested In Narok Over Alleged Impersonation, Fraud

NAROK, Kenya — Detectives have arrested two men accused of impersonating a senior government official and defrauding members of the public.

The suspects, identified as Geoffrey Kipngetich Ngeno and Kipkurui Peter Tonui, were arrested in Narok Town while travelling in a black Toyota Prado.

Detectives also recovered several mobile phones from the suspects, which are believed to have been used in the alleged fraud.

The phones have been seized as part of investigations into the suspected scam.

The two suspects remain in police custody as detectives complete investigations ahead of their expected arraignment.

Authorities have not disclosed the identity of the government official the suspects are accused of impersonating or the amount of money allegedly obtained from victims.

The suspects will have an opportunity to respond to the allegations in court.
