NAROK, Kenya- The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission has arrested a surveyor based in Narok County for allegedly soliciting and receiving a bribe.
EACC identified the suspect as Joan Achieng Odumbe.
The commission said Odumbe demanded Sh100,000 from a complainant to facilitate the identification of boundary beacons between two parcels of land in Nairagie Enkare Sub-County.
Following preliminary investigations, EACC officers mounted an operation that led to her arrest at the Narok County offices.
She was arrested while allegedly receiving Sh50,000 from the complainant, according to the commission.
Odumbe was subsequently escorted to the EACC South Rift Regional Office in Nakuru for processing and statement recording.
EACC said it remained committed to combating bribery and other forms of corruption at public service delivery points.
The commission said its interventions were intended to improve the quality of services offered to members of the public.
The allegations against Odumbe are subject to investigation, and she remains presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
