NAIROBI, Kenya – President William Ruto has sent a message of encouragement to millions of learners set to sit for this year’s national examinations, assuring them of the government’s full preparedness to ensure smooth administration across the country.
In a post on X, President Ruto wished success to candidates sitting the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA), the newly introduced Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA), and other national tests.
“We wish all candidates sitting this year’s primary and junior school, and other categories of national examinations success as the assessment period kicks in,” the President said. “They have exerted enormous effort in their studies and we are sure that they will perform well.”

Dr. Ruto said arrangements for this year’s national assessments have been completed, adding that all stakeholders — including candidates, teachers, parents, invigilators, and supervisors — are expected to work together to ensure a smooth and credible process.
This year marks a significant milestone in Kenya’s education system as the first cohort of Grade 9 learners will sit the inaugural Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA), a key component of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).
Other groups expected to sit national exams include Grade 6 pupils taking the KPSEA, learners under the Kenya Integrated Learners Education Assessment (KILEA), and those undertaking the Kenya Pre-Vocational Level Education Assessment.
The President’s message follows a briefing he received from Education Cabinet Secretary Migos Ogamba and senior ministry officials on the state of preparedness ahead of the national examinations.
