KIAMBU, Kenya — Alliance High School in Kiambu County is set to welcome students back to a new school year with a modern, state-of-the-art dining hall designed to enhance learners’ daily experience.
According to Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo, the facility was delivered by the State Department for Housing and Urban Development and is expected to be commissioned soon.
The dining hall can accommodate up to 2,400 students at a time, offering a spacious and comfortable environment aimed at promoting dignity, efficiency, and a sense of community during meal times.
The new facility significantly expands the school’s capacity as it prepares for an increased student population, particularly ahead of the rollout of the Competency-Based Education (CBE) curriculum at the Senior School level this year.
Government officials say the project reflects a broader commitment to ensuring that infrastructure keeps pace with education reforms, and that CBE is supported by learning environments that are practical, inclusive, and fit for purpose.

Alliance High School is among institutions expected to play a key role in the transition to senior school under the new curriculum, with the upgraded dining facility seen as a critical support service for learners.
