NAIROBI, Kenya – President William Ruto has made key appointments to the leadership of three major public institutions, naming Charles Nyachae, Ali Noor Ismail, and Abdi Mude Ibrahim as non-executive chairpersons, according to a gazette notice dated July 11, 2025.
Charles Nyachae Returns to KSG
Charles Nyachae has been re-appointed as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenya School of Government (KSG) Council, a position he previously held.
His new three-year term takes effect on July 13, 2025, under Section 6(1)(a) of the Kenya School of Government Act.
Nyachae, a constitutional lawyer, is a former chairperson of the Commission for the Implementation of the Constitution (CIC), where he played a pivotal role between 2010 and 2015 following Kenya’s constitutional overhaul.
He was also appointed in 2018 as a Judge of the East African Court of Justice (EACJ) by former President Uhuru Kenyatta, a post he held until his resignation in November 2023.
His departure was formally acknowledged by the East African Community Summit, which lauded his service.
Earlier this year, Nyachae was shortlisted for the position of IEBC Chairperson, a role left vacant following the exit of Wafula Chebukati.
Ali Noor to Head Pest Control Products Board
President Ruto has also appointed Ali Noor Ismail as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Pest Control Products Board.
His appointment, effective July 11, 2025, falls under Section 5(2)(a) of the Pest Control Products Act.
Noor previously served as a Principal Secretary in the State Department for Cooperative Development and later in the Ministry of Labour during the Jubilee administration.
Abdi Mude to Lead Veterinary Vaccines Institute
In the same notice, Ruto named Abdi Mude Ibrahim, a former MP for Lafey Constituency, as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenya Veterinary Vaccines Production Institute for a three-year term beginning July 11.
Mude, who served in the 12th Parliament, was elected on a United Democratic Movement Kenya (UDM Kenya) ticket and represented Mandera County.
